Hans was an average man. He worked a 9-7 job in the financial services industry.
His dream was to be his own boss, and ultimately own a franchise.
After a number of years of hard work, Hans now owns Wizcrete.com.au, a leader in the concrete resurfacing industry and is on the verge of making his franchise a reality.
This was his advice:
“To be an entrepreneur, you need to be a generalist. You need to be a “B” grade expert in a number of things. Then you have to find “A” grade specialists who fill in your gaps. Too many people think they’re ready and don’t know a thing. They don’t know how to do their accounts, don’t have sales skills etc. Make sure you have some and get the ball rolling. No one is going to push you. If you really want it, just do it.”
“Its not about concrete prices. Its about delivering top customer service. People don’t mind paying a little extra of their concreting costs for piece of mind. And don’t play down your customer service. Tell your customers what their experience will be like”
“Concreting is one of the hardest industries due to the reliance on blood and sweat labour. Imagine creating driveways for a house. Think about the amount of concrete involved. Then think about the fact that if you stuff up, you won’t be able to fix it. Concrete isn’t irreversible. Once it sets, thats it.”
